EARLY CAREER AND INTRODUCTION TO FILMMAKING:
Goldie Behl began his journey in films at the young age of 15 when he took up the responsibility to finish his father’s last film Indrajeet after his untimely demise. Since then, he has come a long way and has left his mark in the industry with his exceptional skills and vision.
FILMOGRAPHY:
At the age of 19, Goldie produced his first film, Angaaray. He went on to direct and produce Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai, a film that portrayed the changing Indian economy, Indian aspirations and reservations, and the influence of media on youth. Goldie’s next film Drona, which he directed and produced, was a VFX-heavy film that set a benchmark for the Indian film industry. The film collaborated with international technicians and showcased the use of technology in filmmaking.
DIRECTION OF POPULAR FICTION SERIES:
Goldie has also directed a couple of popular fiction series, including Reporters and Aarambh. Reporters was a television show that revolved around a newsroom drama and touched upon subjects of light politics. On the other hand, Aarambh was a high-budget visual effects TV show in India, which showcased the rivalry between the Dravidians and Aryans and was written by one of India’s famous writers – K. V. Vijayendra Prasad.
OTT SPACE:
In the OTT space, Goldie has produced, show-run and directed several popular shows such as Rejctx Season1and 2, Mithya, Hello Mini Season 1,2 and 3, and Duranga (an official adaptation of the Korean drama ‘Flower of Evil,’) in collaboration with Applause Entertainment and Zee5. These shows have been well-received by the audience and have set new benchmarks in the Indian digital entertainment space.
CURRENT PROJECTS:
Goldie is currently working on Duranga Season 2 for Zee5, and on an adaptation of a Scandinavian series called Blinded, in collaboration with Applause Entertainment, both of which are in the post-production stage. Additionally, he is developing an original series called Civil Lines for Sony Liv and season 2 of Mithya.
He continues to inspire and entertain his audience with his captivating storytelling and vision.
