Monika Shergill is the Vice President of Content at Netflix India where she oversees the development, creation and the acquisition of all Indian language content on Netflix. Under her leadership, Netflix India has delivered several hits such as Heermandi: The Diamond Bazaar, The Great Indian Kapil Show, The Railway Men, Amar Singh Chamkila, Kohrra, Jaane Jaan Guns and Gulaabs, Curry and Cyanide: The Jolly Joseph Case, Khakee – The Bihar Chapter, Delhi Crime, Khufiya, Rana Naidu, The Hunt for Veerappan, Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, and the Academy Award-winning The Elephant Whisperers, to name a few.
Monika previously led India programming for leading networks – Star, Sony and Viacom18. She started her career, spanning over two decades, as a journalist and documentary filmmaker, reporting on various social and environmental issues in India.
