Venugopal Parthasarathy Iyengar is a seasoned media and entertainment professional who, over the last two decades, has been living and loving the tumult of content management, distribution, FAST, OTT, DTH and whatever else the digital universe will be throwing at media next!
Experienced across the domains of mobile video, OTT services, DTH and broadcast television driving functions like business development, solution sales, business operations management, subscriber and product management, content acquisition, broadcast marketing and franchise development, Venu has worked across global brands like Walt Disney and Viacom to domestic majors like Zee Entertainment and Sun TV Network and also left it all to run Apalya Technologies, an OTT media tech start-up winning businesses against global competitors for marquee clients across Asia. Venu is currently busy setting up the Cloud and SAAS portfolio of products for Planetcast Media Services Ltd.
He loves the challenge of bringing together cross-functional teams for a shared vision and objective; comfortable with diverse teams and matrix structures. On most days, you will find him in the middle of the office (he’s not a fan of corners), talking interminably about either content or media tech or movies and music.
